A Great day in the African bush at Hluhluwe Umfolozi Game reserve.
Departing from Durban Hotels at 7am we made our way from the city for our Safari at Hluhluwe Umfolozi.
The temperatures increased as we went alone and by 2 pm it was 32 degrees centigrade.
Due to the high temperatures and the rain which the game reserve has experienced lately the animals were a bit harder to find than usual.
Having said that this Durban Safari/Tour went very well. Great sighting of Rhino and buffalo mud wallowing as well as great sighting of Giraffe, Zebra, Impala, Nyala, Warthog, Monkeys, Baboons and even two Crocodiles!
So this was not such a pour showing after all. Lunch at Hilltop Camp was great and thank goodness (Quiet!) Low season is upon us!
We began the Safari Tour at the Southern Nyalazi gate and exited at the Memorial Gate in the North this as least gave us a chance of a good overview of the game reserve from the flatter areas to the more mountainous.
Much thanks to the father and son that joined me on this tour, Freddy good luck with the training at MSC.
