Hluhluwe Umfolozi Day Tour 11/12/11 - Tim Brown Tours

After an early Departure from Durban for this day tour to Hluhluwe umfolozi Bug 5 game reserve myself and my Six clients from Japan and a seventh from Austria who had been in Durban for the COP17 conference, got stuck into the 3 hours drive to the game reserve.

We covered the history of the Zulus, Durban, British, Dutch and Indian settlers… We also covered the sugar cane issues and Blue Gum plantations.

By the time we got to Hluhluwe umfolozi game reserve we could fully focus on the job at hand, finding animals!

Of course the sounds and sceanery in the reserve added to the experience and the weather was great. As you can see from the pictures we managed some good sightings after a slow start.

Lunch at Hilltop camp was deserved and needed. Had a good chat at lunch about Kyota Protocal and what they guys were studying etc. Theses guys might be able to change the world in 10 years if there studies turn out fruitful!

We then continued and tried to find the Lions without success, but did get a Bull Bufallo and Rhino…

Over all it was a great day and we arrived back in Durban at about 18:30 a bit tired but happy all the same.
