I had 2 clients from Australia with me on this tour to hluhluwe umfolozi game reserve.
We entered at the southern gate in the hope of covering some of the south and moving up north there after.
I had heard that there had been a Lion sighting early that morning between points 2 and 3 in the umfolozi section so i headed there to see if we would be lucky. Sadly the lions had made a Kill about 30 meters off the road and the grass was still long in that area so we could only watch as the Vulture flew in to await there turn at the carcass!
Im glad we stuck it out a bit longer in the south as i waited on the bridge which crosses the Black Umfolozi and after 5 minutes a large heard of Elephant came down to drink and cross the river.
The heat of the day took its toll and we stopped for lunch. Its was a while before we saw anything again but about an hour from the gate the action began with Rhino, Elephant and Buffalo sightings…
The general game was good in the south but quiet in the North.
