Phinda Private game reserve 20-21 November 2012 Private Safari Tour - Tim Brown Tours

After collecting my clients(Through there agent True Collection) from Zimbali (Durban) we departed the Durban area heading up the North Eastern coastline of Kwa-Zulu Natal to Phinda Private game reserve where we would be staying at the Homestead a very nice exclusive little lodge.

After covering a huge amount of History of Durban/Kwa-Zulu Natal and South Africa aswell as a quick stop for coffee we arrived at the Central gates to Phinda. We were greeted with a letter welcoming us and the gates were opened and so were our eyes as we began to look for animals.

We did manage to see a few things before we arrived at the Homestead and Im sure they we wondering if we had got lost as we really enjoyed the drive in. Upon arrival we were greeted by the team @ the Homestead and shown around.

Wonderful place and the rain just about held off for us. small showers would not deter us. Mark our guide there decided we would look for elephants so we went south that afternoon and were very lucky as out the corner of my left eye I spotted a Male Lion and alerted Mark to stop. It was an amazing sighting as he got up and walked in front of the vehicle and sat in the road. Mark did find us elephants 2 Bulls who were showing off there skills in a joust! brilliant. We basically saw loads that drive – Rhino(white), Buffalo, Lion and Elephant.

A great dinner at the lodge in I was off to bed early to be up early for the morning game drive @ 5am.

We were up and ready to go in a little drizzle which didnt bother us at all, the plan was Leopard and a Pride of 10 Lions. Sadly no luck there but amazingly someone had found a Cheetah with two 6 month old cubs. The mother had caught an impala lamb probably born the night before and she was teaching them to hunt. It was special thats for sure!

Black Rhino earlier was for me an amazing sighting and we headed back for a breakfast and Shower.

Later we departed Phinda and I stopped at a Curio shop for the clients to see and buy african artifacts which they loved and we continued to Durban were Christophe had a conference call.

Great 2 days.
