After collecting my client from Durban City we headed up to the game reserve with the weather as a slight concern.
I covered the History of the area, Durban, Kwa-Zulu Natal and South Africa aswell as how each population group can to exist in the area.
I was grateful to be kept busy by some great questions from the clients and before we knew it we were there, 3 hours from Durban and at the oldest game reserve in Africa – Hluhluwe Umfolozi.
We entered the park and battled a little but did find a large territorial male Rhino, Warthog, Vervet monkeys and Buffalo on the hills.
Just before we stopped for lunch I thought Id cover Mansiya Loop in the valley below the Hilltop camp where we found Giraffe and Zebra together aswell as buffalo, Rhino, Nyala, impala with newborn and a White backed vulture down by the “beach”.
We then had a Lekker lunch at Hilltop camp and the rain came down!!!
It cleared a little and we departed for Nyalazi gate, before we got there we did find an old bull buffalo aswell as more Rhino, Crocodiles and much more…
We later departed and slowly made our way back to Durban City where I drop off my clients.
