Hluhluwe Umfolozi, Cat rehab and Isimangeliso Wetland Park 18-19 March 2013

A pretty good couple of days spent in nature.

After collecting my clients in Durban city we headed out to interact with some endangered species “Cats” namely cheetah, African Wild Cat, serval and Caracal.

This was a great experience for the clients and everybody enjoyed it.

Shortly after we headed into Hluhluwe to see what we could find. I couldnt believe how many giraffe and Zebra we saw in 2 hours! Its was madness. They were everywhere. We also Saw Rhino, Warthog, Nyala, bushbuck amongst others.

After Lunch we headed back out to see if we could come right with Elephant which we didnt but we did see Rhino with young calf, Bufallo, Sunset which was amazing, giraffe, Zebra, Nyala, crocodile, terripins aswell as a Water monitor.

We arrived back at camp in time for a shower then a 19:30 dinner. Which was amazing as usual at Hilltop camp.

We decided on a 05:30 start and this gave us enough time to find the Elephant and Hyena but no Cats. Good Job for the Rehab centre…

Then we had a big breakfast and headed out to St Lucia or the 2 hour boat cruise where we saw load of hippos and about 5 crocodiles.

On route to Umzumbe 110 km south of durban we stopped for a late lunch 3pm and then continued to Umzumbe. We arrived well after dark and had driven through some cooling rain. It was a great Tour and everybody enjoyed it.
