A great Tour! I collected my clients form the Durban Area who were on holiday from Australia.
We began as usual with the History of the area of Durban and Kwa-Zulu Natal aswell as South Africa.
After 3 hours driving we began at St Lucia for the 10am boat cruise…On the Estuary.
After 2 hours it was time to visit the board walk to the Estuary beach and then a bite to eat in St Lucia Town – One street.
A good lunch and we departed St Lucia (Isimangeliso Wetland Park) for Emdoneni and the Cat feeding Tour at 4pm. This was great especially with the interaction with the Cheetah brother Moyo and Juba. A very emotional experience as always.
Emdoneni Lodge was our place of rest that night and another great dinner was presented they always make great homely food.
The following morning it was breakfast and check out! we headed on to Hluhluwe Umfolozi for what would be an Elephant Day of note, in fact I have not seen so many elephant in such a small area of the reserve in all my years of Guiding (8). There honestly must have been 300 of the 550 elephant in the reserve all in the same area! It was madness trying to avoid the females with young babies, 5 or 6 herds all converging as if for a conference or a funeral!
It was time for lunch we did see Rhino and Buffalo aswell as Giraffe before lunch but we could no longer look at an elephant…
After lunch we checked in and book onto the night drive(5-8pm)
Dinner then was great.
The following day was breakfast and a whole day in the game reserve. I spent 5 hours getting down south where we eventually found lions, hyenas and a Baboon perched outside the toilet! This made for a funny photo.
It was a great day and topped off a great tour safari from Durban.
