Hluhluwe Umfolozi game reserve and St Lucia safari Tour from Durban 31 – 1 September 2013

Hluhluwe Umfolozi 2 day Safari Tour 31 to 1 September 2013

Hluhluwe Umfolozi game reserve and St Lucia Big 5 safari Tour from Durban 31 – 1 September 2013

Great Big 5 Safari Tour. We began in Durban and headed up to Hluhluwe umfolozi where we tried our very best to find Lions in the heat of the day but without luck. We had huge success though with everything else and this made the tour brilliant.

After watching Elephants and Buffalos drinking in the umfolozi river we made our way up to Hilltop camp for lunch and check in.

Later that day we headed back out and had insane sightings of Rhino, Buffalo, African Wild dog on a male Nyala kill with 6 puppies and load of Giraffe Zebra and the list goes on…

We had to return for dinner and were nearly late back.

Day 2: Durban 3 Day Big 5 Safari Tour.

Dinner was great and then it was time to rest.

An early morning and surprising the Kids were awake.

We went looking for Cats and Dogs…

No Cats but a Black Rhino in full view of the vehicle did the usual – a huff and a puff a few steps towards us and ran away into the thicket this was better than any Lion sighting for me!

Day 3: Durban 3 Day Big 5 Safari Tour.

We had had so much luck this tour it was amazing.

We returned for breakfast and then checked out and raced off to the gate to get to St Lucia.

At St Lucia we saw loads of Hippos and crocodiles aswell as hunting fish eagles and other bird life.

After this it was time for lunch and the fruit market before heading back to Durban City.
