I collected my Clients off the Amsterdam ship in Richards Bay. Susan had booked this tour from more than a year in advance and would you believe it there was a little rain, This didn’t hamper our spirits as my clients had been looking for things to do in Durban area and I had arranged a Zulu Cultural experience and a 2 night Tour into Hluhluwe Umfolozi Game reserve. (Africa’s oldest game reserve)
At DumaZulu we had a good performance from the family who live and run the cultural experience. After all the song and dance and learning more of Zulu Culture we headed to Hluhluwe (memorial gate). We were insanely lucky!
Within 10 minutes I spotted in my wing mirror a Lioness crossing the road behind me! There were jokes saying I would make a good school teacher as I have eyes at the back of my head! lol.
This was great, we couldn’t do wrong and we found giraffe, Rhino, Buffalo and Elephant all on day one. The following day could not have been any better I found a female leopard on crossing the road into the long grass. This was so special.
Later Zebra, Elephant and Buffalo aswell as giraffe etc.
It was the Big 5 in less than 24 hours and a trip for the clients to remember.
