In build up to the World Cup beginning tomorrow in PMB (Mountain Bike Down hill) some of the athletes and there families visited Lions Valley Lodge in Nambiti Conservancy, KZN to relax and take there minds away from the Event that lay ahead.
On Board was the True Collection Team and Santa Cruz Bicycles from the USA and the obligatory photographers (taking nothing away from there talents) and myself.
We were all very fortunate when our host, Lions Valley Lodge lived up to their name an produced a Lioness on a kill for us which was one of the highlights of our experience. Another was our guide getting stuck in the mud 50 meters from the lioness and her kill. This was great fun for us all as we safely were lead to the far side of the vehicle where another guide assisted in towing us out. This was great for the adrenaline and showed the guys how nature really behaves.
We were very fortunate with the weather as we missed all the rain and had the aftermath of the muddy experience to show for what had come before. This all the guys loved and would have got there juices racing for the World Cup meeting tomorrow.(Saturday 23/4/11)
I would like to thank Cheryl Felt – Lion Valley lodge’s Marketing Manager for helping us set this all up for the Team, True Collection and Santa Cruz.
We all enjoyed a great bush experience and will return hopefully sooner rather than later!
Best wishes to all in the World Cup Mountain bike event and see you soon.
