Drakensberg 2 day Safari Tour Sani Pass Royal Natal and Cathedral Peak 3 and 4 May 2013

Drakensberg 2 day Safari Tour Sani Pass Royal Natal and Cathedral Peak 3 and 4 May 2013

We began our Safari Tour in Durban. My clients had been looking for things to do in Durban and came across Tim Brown Tours on TripAdvisor.

We departed early bells at about 6:15 am for Sani Pass where yes there was snow on the top of the mountain!

It was a long day as we only left Underberg to got 3 hours to Didima – Cathedral peak at 15:30. This meant we would not make it to Cathedral peak in time for the sunset which was my original plan…

Anyway we got the and my clients one of which was celebrating her birthday settled in next to the fireplace for a special dinner. After dinner it was an early night and early rise to see the sun come up.

We then had some breakfast at Didima and visited the SAN Bushmen Rock art center where we enjoyed the interpretive center and museum.

We then departed for Royal Natal National Park in the Northern Drakensberg where we hiked up to some bushman paintings, After which we made our way to the Cascades, Look Out Rock, Tiger falls and then down to the base. We were tired but glad we stretched our legs.

Then we headed to Hlala’s Pub for lunch and departed for Durban. On route to Durban was a big storm which was great as we had had sun the whole 2 days so we were very happy to miss it.

A great Tour of the beautiful mountains.
