Tala Day Tour 7/2/12 – Seabourn Quest Crew Members

An Awesome day under the African Sky on this Tour from Durban docks to Tala Game reserve for the day.

I picked up my clients 5 crew member from the Seabourn Quest Ship which docked in Durban yesterday 7/2/12 and we departed for Tala game reserve. As usual I covered some of the History of Durban, the different cultures and how they came to be here in Durban.

Once we reached Tala Game reserve we entered and headed for the hills where we had some great sighting of load of animals ie: Zebra, Wildebeest, Blessbok, Kudu, Impala, Eland(the largest of all African antelope, Warthogs, Ostrich and many bird species ie; Egyptian Geese, Red Bishops in mating plumage and even a Klaas’ Cuckoo.

Once we made it to the thicker areas we finally managed to find a Giraffe and Rhino laying in the Shade…

This was the mission of the day, Rhino and Giraffe and I suppose Hippo which were in the main body of water near the main gate of Tala.

On route back we spotted some Vervet Monkeys running on the road and we stopped for lunch at Phezulu so I could show the group the view of the Valley of 1000 Hills. Very nice I must say.

After a hearty Lunch which was in great need on my side… (breakfast seems a long way from lunch when you have lunch at 14:30) we then checked out the shops and the group bought a few items to take back.

Lastly a few snaps of the view and we were off back to Durban.

A Great day and some great weather to boot.
