Hluhluwe Umfolozi game reserve, Cat rehab and St Lucia 3 day safari Tour 28feb-2March 2013

Another amazing Safari Tour with Lions on two occasions and a Elephant Bull which only myself and my clients will know what that felt like.

We began as usual in Durban/Umhlanga area where I collected my clients from there hotel and we made our way to the game reserve, covering history and facts along the way time flew and we arrived quickly.

We entered at the Nyalazi gate where I decided first to check down to the Black umfolozi for lions and elephants with no luck it was very quiet down south! We then headed up north and I decided to check the same spot where I had found Lions on a kill 2 days prior. Surprisingly there was a Male and female drinking water together as we drop by! It was beautiful! They they eventually moved into thick shrub. They great thing was that 3 vehicles just drove by not stopping to see what we were looking at or to ask. We had them to ourselves.

What a start! We continued North to Hilltop for lunch and to look at the view before leaving and exiting northern gate for Emdoneni cat rehab center where we did the Tour @ 16:30. checked in and had a great dinner.

The following day we checked out and drove into hluhluwe umfolozi again as we had a reservation at Hilltop camp and we had some great sightings along the way. Giraffe, Baboons, vervet monkeys, Rhinos, Buffalo etc.

We stopped for lunch and to check in. After this we headed back out and had a special experience with a relaxed Bull Elephant. They best part being no other vehicles came near us and he gave us memories to last a life time…!

We settled in for dinner and some zulu dancing thereafter it was bed time.

The third day we had some breakfast before leaving for St Lucia boat cruise and our final game drive. Our sightings were good and of course  two Lioness right next to the road which others just drove past. They were a little skittish and moved off into the thick grass so we left them to relax as a herd of Zebra and Buffalo were slowly approaching the Lions.

The St Lucia boat cruise was great and we saw 3 crocodiles aswell as 60 off Hippos.

It was a great tour/safari.
