Hluhluwe Umfolozi Game reserve 3 day Durban Safari/Tour, St Lucia and Cat rehab – 21-23 October 2013

Hluhluwe Umfolozi game reserve st Lucia and Cat rehab 21 to 23 October 2013

A great Safari Tour to Hluhluwe Umfolozi game reserve from Durban.

After collecting my clients from Durban we heading up to Emdoneni cat rehab center where we would enjoy a Tour around the rehab with some interaction with 4 Different endangered species of cat including Cheetah.

After the Tour we headed into Hluhluwe Section of the reserve where we just made our way to the camp for lunch and check in. We did see Rhino, Buffalo, Zebra and Warthogs plus other animals on our way.

At Hilltop camp we had lunch and checked in before heading back out until gate closure at 6pm.

We did well but didnt see the elephants that day.

Day 2 – Durban 3 day Safari Tour

We did an 8 hour game drive to try find the elephants and Lions. It was a success as we found both and had great sightings of them and other animals.

We stopped at the Centenary center for lunch and then returned to the lodge.

Later it was time for the open vehicle game drive but they could not top the day we had already had.

After a long day it was bed.

Day 3- Durban 3 day safari tour

We got up a little later and met for breakfast at 7am before heading out to see what we could find. We added the smallest baby White Rhino I have ever seen. It could hardly walk and both mother and baby showed signs of a very recent birth! Very exciting as the baby girl was only a day or 2 old.

After this excitement we heading out to St Lucia(Isimangeliso Wetland Park) to view hippos and crocodiles. This to was a success.

Then it was time for a quick lunch before heading back to Durban.
