Hluhluwe Umfolozi game reserve 3 Day Durban Safari Tour 29Nov to 1 Dec 2013

Hluhluwe Umfolozi 3 Day Safari Tour 29Nov to 1 Dec 2013

After collecting my clients from Durban and covering some of the history of the area/Durban we arrived at Emdoneni Cat rehab Center where the clients got to interact with 4 Endangered species of Cat, Notably the Cheetah.

From here we moved off to Hluhluwe Umfolozi game reserve where we took a gentle game drive to Hilltop camp where we would be spending the next 2 nights.

A good lunch and then we headed back out on Safari to see what we could find. Day one we saw 2 of the Big 5 and Hyena.

Day 2. – Durban Safari Tour

We got up early and managed to find a nice bull elephant is Musth which had knocked a tree into the road so we had to wait for him to move before I could move it enough so we could get by safely.

We saw Giraffe, Rhino, Buffalo, Nyala, Kudu and much more like crocodile and water monitor lizards.

After breakfast we too a rest before lunch and another Safari Drive. This time we spotted a Lioness in the distance but what made this so much better was she walked right up to the vehicle and then down the road. Awesome stuff.

We stopped at hilltop camp for open vehicle game drive safari and the the rest of us went in my vehicle again spotting Rhino with baby, Buffalo, crocodile, terapin etc

We then returned for dinner and bed.

Day 3 : Durban Safari Tour

We got up later at 6am and met for 7am breakfast before checking out and doing a final 3 hour safari tour. We sadly couldnt find the cats again but did come up with baboon, vervet monkeys, Elephant, Buffalo and more.

From here we departed to St Lucia for a 2 hour boat cruise on the Isimangeliso wetland park estuary. We viewed Hippos and a few crocodiles before returning for some curio shopping and lunch.

We then departed for Durban.
